Guam GED and HiSET Eligibility Requirements
GED Requirements
- Resident: You must be a resident of Guam to take the test.
- Age: You must be 16 to take the test.
- Enrolled: You cannot be enrolled in an accredited high school or be a high school graduate.
- Cost: Test Center: $37.25 (per subject) or $149 (all subjects). Online: $37.25 (per subject)
- Score: 145 (minimum)
- Accommodations: You must apply for Guam GED disability accommodations if you need it and be sure to check out all the other requirements you will need to meet.
HiSET Requirements
- Resident: Must have lived in Guam for 12 months and prove residency.
- Age: You must be 18 years of age. Students who are 16 or 17 may take the test with additional documentation.
- Enrolled: You cannot be enrolled in an accredited high school or be a high school graduate.
- Must take CASAS Appraisal before exam.
- Cost: Cost: $10 per subject, $5 test center fee, $10 admin fee
- Score: Score: 8 in each subtest, combined score of 45; must score a minimum of 2 on the Language Arts, Writing essay

After you pass the test, the territory of Guam will award you a high school equivalency certificate that will show you have achieved the same level of knowledge as a high school graduate.

There are two high school equivalency exams given in Guam: HiSET and GED. Both are equivalent to a high school diploma, and are accepted at 99% of colleges. You can go on to get a great job, get a degree, or join the military with a Guam HiSET or GED.
The Guam GED exam tests you on Math, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts. The Guam HiSET exam tests you on Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, and Writing.

For the Guam GED, you have to wait 10 days before you retake a test after taking it once. After the 3rd retake, you have to wait 60 days before testing again. There’s no yearly testing limit.
For the Guam HiSET, you can retake the HiSET exam 3 times during a calendar year. Contact your test center for more information.
